Naomi McKinney, B.Sc., M.Ed.,
Registered Clinical Psychologist
Are you are feeling overwhelmed, distressed and anxious? It is no coincidence that our paths have crossed. I am so grateful you are here. I would be honoured to help you start listing to your instincts again and to help you find your peace.
We will use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Trauma Informed practices in a comfortable, safe, confidential setting. As a proud Metis Psychologist, I have a special interest in helping Indigenous Peoples. I also appreciate assisting Veterans, First Responders, Health Professionals, those from Farming Agricultural, and Rural Areas.
I appreciate the opportunities to be involved in both clinical practice and learning institutions. As a clinical supervisor, and a sessional psychology instructor I am able to remain connected to new research and empirically supported interventions. While therapy helps me to make learning interesting by adding real work clinical application to concepts.
I am trained at the the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Neuropsychology and Biology; I have Masters degree in Developmental Psychology, Learning and Assessment. I also have post graduate certificates in Addictions Counselling, Conflict Resolution and Trauma Counselling. I have been a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists for 25 years and have extensive experience with Youth Adults and Seniors.
No matter what brings you here, I can not wait for our paths to cross and hear your story.
