Non-Insured Health Benefits
NIHB and FNIHB

Did you know that Indigenous Peoples have access to Mental Health Counselling Services at no cost to them?

People with a treaty number can access several programs through Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB), First Nations Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB) and Jordan’s Pricinple.  McKinney Psychology is an approved provider for NIHB, FNIHB  and Jordan’s Principle to provide counselling and other psychological interventions.  The programs offered include:
1. Mental Health Counselling Benefits
2. Those impated by Indian Residential Schools.
3. Those impacted by Indian Day Schools.
3. Those impacted by Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women.
4. Jordan’s Principle.

We are honoured to be able to support Indigenous people through their own healing process.  Sadly, we have met so many people that fit into all three programs.  All of our staff are Indigenous themselves and/or Culturally sensitive.

We can provide online or telephone services to any person in Alberta.

We provide in person counselling in Ponoka Alberta and at Montana Integrated Health Services.  We are very accessible for in person services for residents of Ponoka, Maskwacis, Wetaskiwin and Central Alberta.

Metis Wellness Program

Did you know that all members of the Metis Nation of Alberta can access financial support and / or referrals for Counselling Services?

Métis Citizens of all ages can access up to 12 hours of FREE, professional, confidential, and culturally sensitive counselling.

All you need is your MNA Citizenship number to access this program.

No matter the issue, you can reach out for assistance and call 1-877-729-0261

This funding can be used to pay counselling fees with McKinney Psychology.
