Robert Tate
Doctoral Intern, Clinical Psychology
If you are looking for an Indigenous therapist who blends Indigenous ways of knowledge and healing with western medicine, I believe we may be a good fit.
I am an Anishinaabe person and a member of Couchiching First Nation in Treaty 3 territory. I am mature student, in the third year of the doctor of clinical psychology program at Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE).
I worked for many years on the street outreach team in Edmonton AB. This role offered an opportunity to work with an extremely vulnerable population.
I centre my spiritual base to guide my clinical practice. This has many benefits. I have been working as an Elder’s helper for many years and continue to use traditional practices.
In my practice, I blend ideas surrounding Indigenous ways of healing with Western concepts such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
I appreciate working with a variety of adult and youth clients. I look forward to our paths crossing.
